Financial Policy

Alternative Spring Break Financial Expectations

All participants of Alternative Spring Break will be held responsible for the following financial obligations:

1. The application process for ASB is need-blind for all students.

2. Vanderbilt ASB will meet the demonstrated financial needs of all students through individualized financial assistance plans that will be approved by the ASB Treasurers.

3. Participants who have been selected off the waitlist after the first deadline are automatically considered to be under a financial assistance plan.

4. First deposits ($100 for driving sites, $200 for flying sites, and $250 for international sites) are due to the Treasurers by Nov. 29. First deposits are non-refundable.

5. Second deposits (remaining balance of the trip) are due to the Treasurers on Jan. 17, unless a financial assistance plan that states otherwise has been created.

6. No money will be refundable one full week prior to Spring Break. Written appeals on the grounds of extenuating circumstances will be evaluated by the Treasurers.

7. If a site leader or participant voluntarily withdraws or requires removal from ASB during the trip, no money will be refunded and he or she is financially responsible for providing transportation from the site.

*Failure to comply with this agreement may result in removal from the program without reimbursement.
